The HUMBLE beginnings of "My Heart's"
"My Heart's" began with Dean handcrafting wooden hearts as gifts for his loved ones.
With each piece, he entered into a quiet, personal connection with the heart it represented. As he shaped the wood, he listened for the stories held within each person—their joys, their struggles, their tenderness, and the marks left by life. Every curve, grain, and imperfection became part of a deeper message.
In creating these hearts for others, Dean also began to understand his own. The work helped him learn to accept, care for, and love the heart he carried within himself.
The UNFURLING of "My Heart's"
Each wooden heart reflects something deeply personal. It honours the beauty that can remain—and even grow—within a heart that has lived, endured, and weathered the world. Dean has a special gift for seeing that beauty and bringing it gently into view.
He also has incredible heart eyes to be able to spot the raw material in nature in the most unlikely places and forms! with patience, elbow grease, love and natured with organic products transforming these into pieces of beauty.
"My Heart's" is his invitation to share this gift: to remember the meaning and value of our hearts, to feel more deeply connected to ourselves and one another, and to recognise how important that connection is—especially at this time in human history.
